Bushcraft Camp @ Woodcraft Park Farm 30 Sept – 1 Oct 2017

Bookings for this years Bushcraft camp are open, spaces are limited so get in quickly, the maximum ratio of children to adults will be 5 to 1. It is hoped that an advance working party will arrive on site on the Friday and if you can join us you're very welcome. Leaders who have younger children may bring them to this camp provided the ratio is not exceeded.

Earlier this year we launched the competition to find next year’s membership badge design. Last year was a chance for thinking about our future. This year we’d like our young members to look at social action in their local area. This is a great group night activity to kick off the Autumn term.

Four intrepid Woodies travelled to Slovenia for the International Falcon Movement's International Committee meeting at the beginning of July. IFM-SEI is Woodcraft's international umbrella organisation and we were there representing General Council, the International Camp 2020 board and the District Fellow movement.

We want as many Woodies as possible to experience the delights of Lockerbrook – but often groups don’t have the numbers to book the whole centre or have difficulty organising a weekend away.  To encourage all groups to experience the fun of Lockerbrook we are organising special weekends where leaders can bring a few Woodies to have a great time up on the hill.

Venturer Committee is a group of 15 Venturers (1 from each region and 6 lay members) that are nationally elected by Single Transferable Vote. Being part of Venturer Committee is a great oppurtunity to gain skills and knowledge for later life (both in and out of Woodcraft), work together to come up with new ways to develop Venturers and, additionally, meet many more people from wider Woodcraft.

 Brighton Marathon 2018 here we come!

Woodcraft folk have secured 5 places in the Brighton Marathon 2018.  Taking place on Sunday 15th April, the Brighton Marathon is a popular event on the Marathon circuit taking in the iconic sites of the city ending at the seafront in the events village where you can celebrate with family and friends, lay on the beach or dip your tired feet in the cool sea. There is a great atmosphere with plenty of crowds cheering you on, it’s a great day out for all the family.

Scotland Coming Together

On the afternoon of Sunday 11th June sixty three Scottish Woodies of all ages came together in Edinburgh for some workshops, food, games and craft. We spent the first part of the afternoon in three groups: Adults took part in a training workshop on session planning and the resources available to support this. Young people aged 8 and over participated in a meeting of our young people’s committee for Scotland titled ‘Gathering of the Smalls’.
