Pitlochry is a beautiful little town nestled in the Scottish hills. If you happen to visit on a mid January weekend, wind your way up through the high street, take a left at the grand Scottish hotel and continue up the hill. Don't be put off by the gradient- you’ll be rewarded by the sight of 50 Scottish woodies, gathered together for their Scottish Gathering, in the majestic Pitlochry Youth hostel.

We are EVS volunteers in London, and went to Stanley and met Angelica from Colombia and Eko from Indonesia. They are doing their EVS at The Activity Den in Stanley. We had a chance to spent a couple of days with them at Gwen`s and Steve`s house. It was a great time.

My dad, Mac, died in November last year. Some of you will have met him at CoCamp helping run the Red Oak cafe or jiving at the Disco. Dad was a traditional man. He rarely talked about his feelings and prefered to show his love for his family by knocking down walls or building bathrooms.

Growing Groups

Tuesday, 31 January 2012

Following the November Development Conference, that explored the theme ‘Growing Groups’, all groups will be asked to rise to the challenge of growth.

If every group were to recruit just one new family (an adult member and a child), we would meet our growth targets!

Growth is important to Woodcraft Folk for a wide range of reasons, including reaching out to new communities and sustainability. We will not fashion a bright new world on our own!

Annual Gathering 2012 - bookings open, call for motions and nominations

Tuesday, 10 January 2012

The convening notice for Annual Gathering 2012 is issued today. This year's Annual Gathering will be held on the weekend of 27-29 April at Scout Park in north London.

Annual Gathering is the democratic heart of the Woodcraft Folk, but it’s so much more than that. As well as celebrating our achievements over the past year & electing our General Council, we discuss future plans for the movement, share skills & experiences, and enjoy each other’s company in true Woodcraft style.
