Woodcraft Volunteer Guides - more available!

Thursday, 9 February 2012

There are now more copies available of the invaluable Volunteer Guide, which lists all the local roles filled by volunteers in a Woodcraft Folk District.

We've had some great feedback about the Volunteer Guide, including members at London Region's AGM who commented that it helped them engage new volunteers and clarify what is expected from volunteers.

The Guide includes a description of each local volunteering role, including group helper, membership secretary, and equipment officer. Roles are helpfully divided into three categories:

  • First steps
  • More involved
  • Regular commitment

So it's useful for first-time volunteers who are new to your Woodcraft group, as well as experienced volunteers who want to take on new responsibility in the District.

Why not give a copy to your local volunteer bureau, CAB or student volunteering centre so they can refer potential volunteers to you?

We're extremely grateful to Camden Woodcraft Folk, whose local Volunteer Guide this national resource is based on, and whose member Clare Turner designed the Guide.
