Chanctonbury Ring District learn about the NHS

Monday, 11 June 2018

Last week members of the Chanctonbury Ring District attended the Steyning Festival and took part in their procession. The procession's theme was 'Revolution' and the district decided to represent the NHS, celebrating the revolution of British healthcare.

As part of the activity the group learned about the founding of the NHS and made placards, banners and props. The Pioneer group also learnt First Aid and made their own costumes for the procession. In the procession the Elfins took on the roles of the doctor & nurses and the Pioneers acted as their patients.

The day was enjoyed by all and the children learnt a great deal about the great work the NHS do!!! They plan to return to the Steyning Festival next year.
