Bromley District LaunchedPublished on Tuesday May 03 2005On 1 May, a new district within the London Region of the Woodcraft Folk was officially launched. For the last five years two local Bromley and Beckenham groups have existed very happily as part of the Lewisham & Greenwich District. It is now felt that we have enough office holders and the time is right for the groups to stand on their own feet as a district. We will, of course, continue to have close and co-operative relations with Lewisham & Greenwich and other Districts, participating in joint activities such as camps and weekends away at the Cudham Centre in Bromley and elsewhere. Our aim in becoming a separate district is to help raise our local profile, recruit new families, and generate more publicity and funding from within Bromley Borough. We intend to start new groups across the borough in due course, but at present our Elfins, Pioneers and Venturers will continue to meet in Beckenham on a Tuesday night. For more information about Bromley District, please get in touch with the District Co-ordinator, Jackie Davies (j.p.davies@city.ac.uk) or District Publicity Officer, Andrew Flinn (a.flinn@btopenworld.com). | ||||||||||||
