Braving The Chill To Raise Money For The Folk

Published on Thursday January 08 2009

Jan Miller (left) and Elle Dodd went off their heads on a cold Boxing Day at Seaburn Beach in Sunderland.  The pair ran into the North Sea dressed as headless cavaliers to raise money for the Woodcraft Folk.

“I was very nervous beforehand, and seeing the RNLI lifeguards in the water only increased my fears," Elle said. "However once I hit the water my legs went numb and it didn't seem so bad!”

The Boxing Day Dip event is organised every year by The Sunderland Lions Club.
