South East Region Wins Grant

The Woodcraft Folk South East region has applied for and successfully obtained a grant of £7,700 this year from Awards for All.

The grant will fund two distinct initiatives. Firstly, it will pay for the professional design of a South East region website. Each district in the region will have their own homepage to promote themselves. In addition it will include a wide game handbook and other resources that will be downloadable. Members will be encouraged to upload their programmes so that a library of resources will build over time. In addition there will be a login area for members' forums etc.

Secondly, the grant will pay for various artists to visit the South East Region camp 2008 and provide subsidies for young people from families on low wages or in receipt of benefits.

"We're very pleased with the result," said Paul Bemrose, Regional Chair. "Hopefully the activities this year and this grant will help further energise the movement in the South East."
