Information for Membership Secretaries

The role of Membership Secretaries and Scotland Disclosure Signatories is essential to the effective recruitment of adult helpers and members and to the ongoing safeguarding of children and young people within Woodcraft Folk.

This area of the website is dedicated to providing you with easy access to the tools necessary to complete your task of member recruitment, seeking references and supporting the CRB/S Disclosure process.

You can find a range of documents in our library that have been developed to assist and advise you, including:

  • Role descriptions for Membership Secretaries (England & Wales, Scotland) and Disclosure Signatories (Scotland)
  • Overview of membership processes
  • Membership application form
  • Standard reference request letters
  • CRB guidance, as well as advice for members completing the form for the first time
  • Detailed information on how to verify identification of new members
  • Advice on confidentiality and data protection
  • Guidance on the recruitment of ex-offenders
  • To request additional CRB Disclosure application forms please email membership@woodcraft.org.uk

As Membership Secretary you should also keep up to date with Woodcraft Folk policies on:

  • Safeguarding
  • Equal Opportunities
  • Data Protection
  • If you require any further advice or guidance please contact Debs McCahon, Membership Development Manager on 0845 217 8939 or email deborah.mccahon@woodcraft.org.uk
