THE MIGHTY MIGHTY MIGHTY MIGHTY MIGHTY MIGHTY WOODIES!

I haven't been a proper woodcrafter for about a year now, i really need to make more of an effort. Also, since i'm moving up to edinburgh, are there people who will be at the uni who were in woodcraft folk. I know there are some bumbling about in leeds, so i want people in edinburgh too. God i'm selfish ;)

Blue skies peace and love
x

i was a member for years as a youngster in fact my first night away from my parents was at Cudham which is still going strong which brought back memories looking at the pics. i still remembered the song from the end of the meeting "Link your hands together" even at the ripe old age of 37 some things i guess stay with you for life. i am glad that you are still going strong, may it long continue and thank you for the great times

I wish Woodcraft where here in the USA! I've grown increasingly distant from the Boy Scouts and their increasingly insane policies. E. T. Seton was right --peace, nature preservation, acceptance not nationalism, pioneering and exclusionary discrimination disguised as "values."

Any plans for Woodcraft Folk chapters in the USA? I'd like to A) help or B) send/bring my 14 year old son to England for camp!!!

Hi Everyone!
I spent a couple of weeks in the Woodcraft Folk camp in Weston Park in 1988 and in 1983. I had a great time there and made lots of friends. I remember fondly of Dot Ballantine, Maurice and Audrey Shadbolt and my dearest foster grandfather Bill Stone. Not to mention the cleaning of the loos. Unfortunately I lost track of Joanna Young who was my pen pal for a long time, and I would like to find her. Please let me know if you have any info about her.
Thanks!
Anita

My great uncle was Leslie Paul. It is funny to see the ongoing success of something I grew up thinking was just a little club he put together. Two facts 1) most of my grandfathers generation of my family were referred to by 'woodcraft' names it took years before i knew his real name was not Robin; 2) my wife was a member which is how I discovered how big it had got

Hy there,Or should i say "How" - I was a founder member of the Scunthorpe group way back around 1936, there were four of us at the first meeting. Can anyone remember me, my name was "Red Arrow" we used to camp nearly every weekend right into the war years and our annual camp was in North Yorkshire at Helmsly with the York group, i still have my badge and i am seventy eight now and often look back on what was the best years of my youth--many thanks

Stanwell district spent halloween at beautiful Cudham, and we had the most fabulous time - including getting up close to real badgers, seeing deer, climbing trees, listening to spooky stories and eating green scones! Many thanks to everyone who helped to make it such a fantastic weekend!! We can't wait to go back........
