Leicester District Woodcraft
Leicester District Woodcraft currently comprises several Elfin, Pioneer and Venturer groups as well as an active set of District Fellows (over 16s) and Kinsfolk. The groups are spread throughout the city of Leicester including Wigston, Evington, Clarendon Park and West End. We are open to members from any part of Leicester and the surrounding county and are always keen to support new groups. Group activities are diverse but are guided by the Woodcraft ethos of friendship, cooperation and internationalism. We are keen that as many adult members as possible take part in organising and running our group activities.
The Leicester District holds an annual camp (usually in May) and fun events such as bonfires, a winter gathering, country walks, and ceilidhs. We are also active in national and international events such as Venturer Camp and Global Village (the 2006 camp organised by the International Falcon Movement).
We hold regular District meetings where decisions on group affairs are discussed and decided upon democratically. All Venturers, DFs and adult members are entitled to attend District meetings. We also have a very accessible Smartgroup which allows for discussion and the posting of information through an electronic forum.
If you have a child who would like to join Woodcraft and would like more information please get in touch with Michael Gerard, the District Information Contact at:
