Annual Gathering 2012 - bookings open, call for motions and nominations

The convening notice for Annual Gathering 2012 is issued today. This year's Annual Gathering will be held on the weekend of 27-29 April at Scout Park in north London.
Annual Gathering is the democratic heart of the Woodcraft Folk, but it’s so much more than that. As well as celebrating our achievements over the past year & electing our General Council, we discuss future plans for the movement, share skills & experiences, and enjoy each other’s company in true Woodcraft style.
This year we’ll be building on our recent experiments with different forms of discussion and decision-making, with a genuine ‘open space’ session, more workshops and more training as well as traditional motions. If you have something you think we should be discussing (whether as a motion or in a new way), please talk to your group or district co-ordinator.
2012 is the UN International Year of Co-operatives and we’ll be taking the opportunity to celebrate our co-operative values and principles, hearing from representatives of the co-operative movement and looking at how we can link up with fellow co-operators in our communities to promote co-operation and the co-operative economy.
In line with the decision of last year’s Gathering, all members have been sent the convening notice mailing by email (unless we have no email address for you). You can also find electronic versions below.
All members are welcome to attend and take part in Annual Gathering, but if you’d like to register as a delegate representing your district, please contact your district co-ordinator.
Prices for Annual Gathering 2012 have been kept at 2010 levels (see booking form for details). All completed bookings received at head office by Friday 2 March 2012 will be eligible for a 10% discount. (Discounts can not be deducted from fairer fare pool contributions). Bookings received after 29 March 2012 will be subject to an admin charge of £20 per person. Any booking made on the day of Annual Gathering will be subject to an admin charge of £100 per person. Bookings will not be considered final until the relevant fees are received.
Further information will be sent nearer the time to members who have booked in. We look forward to seeing you there.

PS Groups and Districts who are currently selecting their delegates may like to consider this motion which was passed by Annual Gathering 2011.
Motion 7: Venturer and District Fellow representation
This Annual Conference believes that we are a democratic youth organisation and that as such young people should be encouraged and supported to participate as much as possible.
This Annual Conference strongly urges that the group delegate for Venturer and DF groups should be of the age range that they are representing.

Do i need to be a member to
Do i need to be a member to come to AG?? i am a venturer.
Venturers are members, but you need to be registered nationally
As a Venturer, you're a member because you pay subs to attend your local group, but like most Venturers (and Elfins and Pioneers) your membership is probably only recorded locally. To come to Annual Gathering you need to be added to the national membership register.
It's free for Venturers (and Elfins and Pioneers) - you just need to get your group leader to email Folk Office with your details (name, address, email) confirming that you are part of your local group.
See you at Gathering
